Looking for harp music for your event? Wanting to take private lessons? Interested in keeping up-to-date with her upcoming events? Other thoughts?
Stephanie would love to hear from you!
And just like that, we’ve wrapped the first HYHE season, and I think I can safely say it was beyond anything @naomihoffmeyer.harpist and I imagined when we started plotting last May. We both learned so much as teachers, artistic directors, graphic designers, schedulers, conductors... the list goes on. The enthusiasm from the students and support from the parents (so! much! support!) was both humbling and empowering. We have taken so much away from this first year and are feeling so inspired to make next season even better. (Registration opens June 1 if you know someone who might benefit from a supportive, personalized, small ensemble experience!)
Blurry but cute anyway..
Who is already looking forward to the next #HYHE season?! 🙋🏼♀️ Registration opens June 1—more details coming soon! ・・・
It’s like Christmas morning over here! Soooo excited about the new #HoustonYouthHarpEnsemble materials. @harpiststephanie, we have come so far this year. ☺️
Let’s all say thanks to the Baptists for their pretty churches with large enough stages to fit orchestras.
When your hall is under renovation but SOMEone’s gotta do the requiem....
Christina and Aaron had some fun requests for their ceremony, including music from Beauty and the Beast and Game of Thrones! I had a lot of fun playing in such a beautiful space.
Three of my students got harps delivered this week and I’m over here 💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼. Thanks @lyonhealyharps for your incredible pre-owned and rental harps, making it so much easier for families to afford harp lessons. This teacher is so happy to have her students playing such high quality instruments.
Maybe the first elegant photo I’ve ever seen of a harpist tuning? This photo is from a beautiful outdoor ceremony at @venue311. Hope newlywed life is treating you well, @paige_aronson!
@naomihoffmeyer.harpist and I couldn’t be more proud of our sweet HYHE students this semester. Enthusiastic, hard-working, kind, curious... it’s an honor to get to direct them. Thanks to @emilykleinharp, @hopecowanharp, and other harp teachers in Houston for encouraging your students to participate.
About last night...
I’ve had the loveliest week playing La Mer with @housymphony. So sad today’s the last show 😭
Happy Saturday from this rocking Houston Youth Harp Ensemble..!
Celebrating Valentine’s Day with a little swing music.
This stylish 6 year old started taking harp lessons last month, and yesterday she showed up all decked out for Valentine’s Day! We agreed her hat would have the best view of our work perched atop the column. (PS that thumb 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼)
This probably doesn’t look like much, but I can’t imagine a better way to close out 2018 than this. Playing Beauty and the Beast for @tutshouston’s 50th anniversary season has been so much fun, and I’m *so* grateful they decided to add harp to this beautiful production. Just three shows left!
Honored to be featured in the art issue of @digbatonrouge. Now that I’m back in town for the @brballettheatre production of #nutcracker, I finally got my hands on a copy!
Snaps sent to me by the mom of two of my students (Ethan, age 8, and Gwyneth, age 6), performing at their neighborhood’s holiday party on their sweet @harpsicleharps. The set list on the music stand includes O Christmas Tree, How to Train Your Dragon, and Itsy Bitsy Spider. Is your heart bursting too? 💕
It’s not Christmastime til I’ve played at Houmas House.
Winter 2018 studio recital complete! ✔️ Truly, every student played their absolute best, and I couldn’t be more proud to be their teacher.
A harp–sized stage 👌🏼
